The one thing the gap between Skyrim and Elder Scrolls 6's release does is people are still playing Skyrim, it's still one of the best-selling games. I know people joke about it online, but it's.
The Elder Scrolls 6's release date is still some time away at this point, Bethesda has previously confirmed, and the company is not really saying much about the game overall. We don't even know exactly what platforms it's in development for other than PC. It seems safe to assume the game is coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, what with Xbox buying Bethesda, but PS5, PS4, and Xbox One releases are all a big question at this point. That said, while Bethesda is withholding salient details, it did recently take an opportunity to talk about the game, and in the process, revealed some interesting details about the next-gen title -- including some talk about procedural generation.
The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date, Price, News and Rumors Published on: March 28, 2019 by Brad The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was a huge hit, launching originally in 2011. Elder Scrolls 6 needs to do 1 counterintuitive thing to match Skyrim. Let's dial back our expectations a bit. 9.20.2020 1:00 PM.
While speaking about the massive overhaul that's been made to the game's engine, Bethesda's Todd Howard made a note about procedural generation, or more specifically how these engine changes will facilitate procedural generation. Howard didn't go into detail about how procedural generation will be utilized and implemented, but it's two words that caught the attention of many fans.
In the industry, procedural generation has a bit of a divisive reputation. While it's become an essential bit of technology for certain genres, it's often criticized by those who prefer a more custom, hand-made experience. Autotune 7 08. Of course, the fear with procedural generation when it comes to The Elder Scrolls VI is that it will encroach on the design of the open-world and missions. A part of what defines The Elder Scrolls is its meticulously crafted and realized open-world and its missions designed from scratch.
Now, just because there will be some type of procedural generation doesn't mean any of this will go away, but because Bethesda didn't clarify how this technology will be used, some players are a bit worried.
At the moment of publishing, neither Todd Howard nor Bethesda have clarified how The Elder Scrolls VI will make use of procedural generation or what it means for the final product. If this changes, we will be sure to update the story with whatever is provided.

[H/T Games Industry]
The Elder Scrolls 6 release date may be years out, but it looks like Bethesda Game Studios may have just teased the setting of the game presumably coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. While the next installment in The Elder Scrolls series was announced back in 2018, we actually know nothing about the game. However, taking to Twitter, and via the official account for the series, Bethesda has possibly hinted at where the next game may take players.
The post, which wishes its followers a happy New Year, is seemingly pretty innocent, but it comes with a map of Skyrim and the caption 'transcribe the past and map the future.' Again, on the surface level, there doesn't appear to be much to this, but there are also some strange lights on the map. One of these lights is on Solitude, the capital of Skyrim. The second appears slightly off the map, suggesting there's no significance to its placement. However, the third is located on the neighboring region, Hammerfell.
As you may know, the current speculation -- partially fueled by rumors and leaks -- is that the next game, at least partially, will take place in Hammerfell, which makes this seemingly random placement of lights actually a bit suspicious.

For now, take everything here with a massive grain of salt because it's all just speculation. However, over on Reddit, fans have pointed out the aforementioned observations and how the combination of the caption, the map, the lights, and the implicated locations are, at the very least, interesting and suspicious.

At the moment of publishing, Bethesda has not commented on any of this speculation in any capacity. If it's a genuine tease, then there's no way this will change. However, if it's just baseless speculation, there's a chance Bethesda may squash it. If it does, we will be sure to update the story.
